XR Tech and Regenerative Tourism

In Progress

As augmented reality technology gains widespread adoption in various industries, it becomes crucial to conduct extensive research to understand its impact on users and explore how it can effectively enhance the tourism experience for diverse user groups.

To address the problem of understanding the impact of augmented reality technology on tourism and how it can benefit diverse user groups, a solution can be to conduct a comprehensive study of existing research, coupled with co-creating solutions with a wide range of users with diverse issues. By incorporating human-centered design principles, the solutions can be tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of different user groups, resulting in more accessible and inclusive tourism experiences. This approach will ensure that the research is inclusive, practical, and effective in improving the user experience while also keeping pace with the rapid development of augmented reality technology.

We are reminded as we gather, that SMARTlab Niagara is situated on treaty land that is steeped in rich Indigenous history and home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit people today -  whom we recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors of our society. We acknowledge Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Mississauga, Attiwonderonk, and Ho-de-no-sau-ne-ga on whose traditional territory we meet.
